Queens Wharf 'Opening the Red Gates' competition is the first step to a new, vibrant harbour area
The Queens Wharf competition closed on Friday 23 October with the submission of eight refined and detailed designs. These designs will now be carefully evaluated before the announcement of a winner, expected to be in mid-November.
The evaluation will be looking for the design that offers the best platform to create a wonderful and lasting legacy for all New Zealanders. Once the winner is selected, the development process provides the opportunity to make any necessary refinements before construction begins early next year.
